Beijing Institute of Technology

Beijing Institute of Technology is the first science and engineering university founded by the Communist Party of China, and the first national defense industry institution of higher education in New China. The university is a key construction university of the state in various batches, and was among the first batch of universities selected for the '211 Project', '985 Project' (the 3rd in Beijing), and 'World-Class Universities' construction A-level list.

For 80 years since its establishment, the university has cultivated over 300,000 high-level talents for the motherland: including state and party leaders such as Li Peng and Zeng Qinghong, over 120 provincial and ministerial level party and government leaders and generals; over 60 academicians including Wang Xiaomo, known as the 'Father of China's Early Warning Aircraft', and a large number of leading talents and outstanding builders in fields such as aviation, aerospace, and ordnance.

Beijing Institute of Technology has carried the nation's glory and dreams, forging a glorious history through the passing of the torch, creating more than 40 'firsts' in the history of New China's science and technology, such as the first television transmitting and receiving device, the first two-stage solid high-altitude sounding rocket, the first light tank, the first large planetarium, etc.

In the global graduate employment competitiveness rankings, the university ranks 11th among universities in mainland China, and has ranked 3rd among Beijing universities for four consecutive years. In recent years, the undergraduate employment rate is around 98% (with 63% of undergraduates pursuing further education), and the graduate employment rate is close to 100%.

The university has signed school-level cooperation agreements with 348 world-class universities in 75 countries and regions, and has carried out various forms of student international exchanges such as joint training, exchange study, and summer schools. The number of undergraduate students going abroad (or to other regions) for exchange each year exceeds 42% of the average number of students in their grade.
